Blue Oak Hill strives to create a sober environment for young men to acquire meaningful and marketable skills while also building a strong foundation for continued sobriety. The home is located in Mendocino County, south of Ukiah on eight acres. The home includes a variety of dogs, cats, and chickens. There is a woodshop, as well as a mechanical shop. The opportunity to work with wood, concrete, mechanics, plumbing and electrical, brick and tile, landscaping, hydroponics, baking, food preparation, and animal husbandry all exist for residents so inclined.
The accommodations are fully furnished dormitory-style, clean, and comfortable with shared meals and household chores. Residents will have access to wireless for educational and recreational purposes. Playing music is encouraged. There is a pool for the resident’s use as well as a laundry and library. Blue Oak Hill is gender-specific, accepting only men.
